Plaza Center
Holland, MI
A dozen brick shapes combine to create unique detailing on Holland’s newest addition to its main street business district. The building footprint steps along its main street to delineate individual retail spaces that reflect the character of individual, existing downtown storefronts. Horizontal brick color transitions delineate the different uses on each level of the building. Archways create a visual framework for retail displays. Dark accent brick accentuates the horizontality of the building elevations. Smooth RockCast masonry units visually anchor the building at the base while creating a uniform, smooth appearance at the pedestrian level. The cornice is detailed to create a finished wall profile, giving the building a distinguished, traditional feel to coincide with existing downtown building facades.
