The Masonry Standards Joint Committee’s (MSJC) 2002 Building Code for Masonry Structures (ACI 530/ASCE 5/TMS 402), Specification for Masonry Structures (ACI 530.1/ASCE 6/TMS 602) and Commentaries are referenced by both the 2003 International Building Code (IBC 2003) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code (2003 NFPA 5000) for the design and construction of masonry structures. The 2002 provisions have been substantially revised and new requirements have been added for:

- Integrated Seismic Design provisions
- Cold Weather Masonry Construction Provisions for Grout
- Inspection and Quality Assurance for Prestressed Masonry
